You are cordially invited to Get Healthy DeSoto’s first Christmas Home Tour.

Included on the tour are four of De Soto’s finest contemporary homes, two historical homes on noted Silk Stocking Row, two established churches and the celebrated Arlington Bed & Breakfast. St. Andrew’s UMC will provide a wonderful opportunity for you to take a break, enjoy light refreshment and view over 50 nativity scenes provided by friends throughout our community. Each home will have a raffle item for you to bid on as you begin your Christmas shopping. Raffle Items include an overnight stay at Comfort Inn, Stan Musial Autographed baseball, an original art work by Juanita Wyman, Holiday Wine Basket, Photo Shoot and gift basket and $100.00 gift card to Wal-Mart. In addition, Cherished Memories, Drummond’s Florist and Nature’s Aglow will host a Christmas Open House in their respective place of business.

Tickets are on sale for $15.00 at the DeSoto Public Library, St. Andrew’s UMC, First State Community Bank, Eagle Bank & Trust, Pogolinos DeSoto, Arlington Bed & Breakfast, Mona Lisa, Two Girls and A Salon, Cherished Memories, Drummonds, Nature’s Aglow and Off the Hook. November 19th
GHD Hiking adventure at St. François Park. Gather at 9:00 a.m. at the De Soto Public Library and then travel to the park. Walk will be approximately 2 hrs. leader: Brenda Eaves 314-954-1578

November 26th
Get Healthy DeSoto Christmas Home Tour 9:00-3:30. 8 homes on tour. Tickets are $15.00 in Advance. $18.00 day of tour. For more info contact Elaine at 586-8335 or Debby at 586-4570.

Dear GHD Member:

This is such an exciting time for Get Healthy DeSoto. Our membership is growing and we are spreading the enthusiasm to surrounding communities. We have some significant projects under consideration for DeSoto. As a member I know you understand and appreciate the accomplishments GHD has made so far. I would like to update you on a couple of projects we are working on at this time.
Walking/Bicycle Trail in Ritcher Park
This would enable people to better utilize Ritcher Park in a healthy active way. The trail would cost approximately $13,500. At this time GHD has $2,500.00 on deposit with the City of DeSoto to go toward this project.
Walking Pocket Maps
Some of you may have seen the maps we currently have for three different courses throughout DeSoto. Our goal is to print seven additional courses. The total cost of the project is $3,099.50. This would give us 2,000 copies of each new map, reprint 1,000 copies of the three existing maps and would provide 10 outdoor plastic map holders.
Get Healthy DeSoto is proud to be able to provide the free membership that gives you access to the many educational sessions, newsletters and activities hosted by GHD. Our intention is to maintain this free membership.
