Dear GHD Member,
THANK YOU to all who participated in the GHD Golf Tournament on May 15th. After being postponed for a week due to severe weather conditions, our tournament teams enjoyed a glorious day of warmth and sunshine. Special thanks to chairperson Richard Henry and volunteers Charles Campbell, Samatha Klaus, Rick Francis, and John Gutierrez. Traci Hardin, licensed massage therapist, donated her time and talents to help golfers relax & warm up their muscles before the tournament began. First place “A” Flight team winner was DeSoto Ozark Electric and 2nd place was awarded to Union Pacific Railroad. First place “B” Flight team winner was The J. Dickinson Team and 2nd place was awarded to the Lowry Law Firm. Other teams participating included The Breeze team, First State Community Bank, Hovis & Associates, 2 teams from Jefferson County Health Department, Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Stichling and Associates.

Dear GHD Member:
This is such an exciting time for Get Healthy DeSoto. Our membership is growing and we are spreading the enthusiasm to surrounding communities. We have some significant projects under consideration for DeSoto. As a member I know you understand and appreciate the accomplishments GHD has made so far. I would like to update you on a couple of projects we are working on at this time.
Walking/Bicycle Trail in Ritcher Park
This would enable people to better utilize Ritcher Park in a healthy active way. The trail would cost approximately $13,500. At this time GHD has $2,500.00 on deposit with the City of DeSoto to go toward this project.
Walking Pocket Maps
Some of you may have seen the maps we currently have for three different courses throughout DeSoto. Our goal is to print seven additional courses. The total cost of the project is $3,099.50. This would give us 2,000 copies of each new map, reprint 1,000 copies of the three existing maps and would provide 10 outdoor plastic map holders.
Get Healthy DeSoto is proud to be able to provide the free membership that gives you access to the many educational sessions, newsletters and activities hosted by GHD. Our intention is to maintain this free membership.
If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution toward the projects listed above please make your check payable to “Get Healthy DeSoto” and mail to Get Healthy DeSoto, c/o Debby Campbell, 431 Johnston Drive, DeSoto, Mo. 63020. All donations are appreciated. We hope you will consider becoming a vested member in these projects.
